I'm kinda partial to the Snap-On variety. We've used the Brick for ages, and the Ethos as well so I bought the Micro-Scan from Snap-On for about $399. This is really only a front counter quick scanner, but it will get you codes in under 10 seconds WITHOUT having to push ANY buttons!!
It does have bothe generic functions for all OBDII, as well as enhanced for the big three.
